Circa 2005.
What started as three different teams, Xplicit (based out of Westlake School for the Performing Arts), Gen2, and Groove Junkies; Pat Cruz and Shaun Evaristo were destined to cross paths in the Bay Area.
In 2005, WSPA’s company level Hip-Hop team known as Xplicit were in search for a new director. Pat reached out to Shaun to pitch the idea to combine forces.
From there, The Company was born.
“Let’s call it what it is,” said Shaun when thinking of a new name. They were the company level of the Hip-Hop program at WSPA.
Since then, the team grew from its roots in the dance community. Starting in local competitions to international showcases, we now travel around the world to share our art with others.
Now formalized as The Company, LLC in 2018, we've partnered with local startups to companies like Google to Grammy nominated musicians on classes, performances, music videos, and unique projects.
Our history has evolved into a legacy, but we believe the best is still yet to come.
